Fire Station 75 Groundbreaking

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (October 5, 2022) — A new fire station will serve residents of Jacksonville’s Westside beginning summer of 2023.

Auld & White Constructors, an award-winning locally-focused construction management, design-build, and general contracting firm with significant expertise in the commercial, healthcare, and public sectors, broke ground on Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department’s (JFRD) Fire Station 75 earlier today. Mayor Lenny Curry, City Council Representatives, members of the JFRD, and neighbors were in attendance.

The project, located in Jacksonville’s Westside near Wilson Boulevard and Firestone Road, will help reduce response times, lower insurance premiums, and help save lives in this extremely busy section of town.

“The station is desperately needed in this area,” said JFRD Chief Keith Powers. “In our business, minutes equal lives, and the closer we can be when an emergency happens, the closer we can be to saving those lives.”

The addition of this Fire Station demonstrates Mayor Lenny Curry’s consistent commitment to public safety during his tenure.

With firefighters spending nearly 1/3 of their lives at their respective stations, it is important to provide them with a safe and comfortable facility.

The design for JFRD’s new 9,650 SF facility includes:

  • Three apparatus bays
  • A day room
  • Bunk room for ten firefighters
  • Kitchen and dining rooms
  • Dispatch and communications rooms
  • Fitness room
  • Male and female toilet areas
  • Locker room
  • Laundry
  • Bunker gear room
  • EMS storage
  • Additional storage spaces

Auld & White Constructors’ design-build partner for Fire Station 75 is ENB Architects of Jacksonville Beach. Over the years, AWC and ENB have partnered on more than 50 projects with a number of them being City of Jacksonville / JFRD design-build fire stations.

Fire Station 75 will be located at 2630 Firestone Road, Jacksonville, FL 32210. Construction is scheduled for completion in Summer 2023.
