Transformation: Building the Future at Pablo Hamlet
Earlier today, Auld & White Constructors joined Smith & Henzy‘s Darren Smith and Tim Henzy, Jacksonville Beach’s Mayor Christine Hoffman, Elderly Housing Management Corporation‘s Dave Linger and Melissa Gilreath, Bove Company’s Gabe Bove, and other distinguished guests at the Pablo Hamlet Senior Living Facility ribbon cutting.
Speakers shared accounts of what was involved with updating the dated senior apartments. Despite the challenges of COVID, material shortages, and the phasing of construction coordinated with residents occupying the active campus, the affordable-housing project was transformed into a hidden jewel of Jacksonville’s beaches.
Quietly nestled amongst the trees near the Intracoastal Waterway, the renovation and expansion of Pablo Hamlet created a sanctuary-like environment. Existing and new residents now enjoy many new features including a multi-purpose community center, kitchen, library, and spacious beach-themed centralized lobby. Other updates included ADA upgrades, a complete landscape package, and a clearly defined entry with rich architectural detailing. With the addition of the new 50 units in the expansion, Pablo Hamlet grew by nearly 1/3 of its original size, allowing more seniors the opportunity to enjoy affordable living at the beach.
