About Metro Kids Konnection

Metro Kids Konnection is a community-based program that creates caring personal relationships with at-risk children and youth in order to identify and address obstacles to healthy lifestyle choices in their communities, families and schools. Programming includes in-school teacher support, facilitation of parent-teacher communication, after school educational and recreational activities, summer day camp and case management.  Community support services are provided for parents, including GED preparation, job skills training and facilitation of community involvement through community service.  Metro Kids Konnection’s holistic approach intervenes in the context of the child’s natural environments:  home, school and community.  Metro Kids empowers children and youth to make positive choices that impact their lives before they become involved in drugs, crime, gangs and other negative lifestyles.
