Memorial United Methodist Church Sanctuary Renovation

Auld & White performed a sanctuary renovation and elevator tower addition at Memorial United Methodist Church in historic Fernandina Beach. Project features of the three-story church, constructed in 1926, include masonry walls, wood trusses and a commercial three stop elevator. The church’s original finishes were salvaged and re-purposed. All rooms within the sanctuary building were renovated to include new flooring, walls, millwork, doors, ceilings, plumbing, HVAC and electrical. A new steel exterior fire escape was added to meet fire code requirements; the stairs for the escape were extensively researched, ordered and installed to result in all new materials matching the church’s existing features. All renovations were completed while the adjacent children’s learning center remained fully operational.
