Job Description Summary
The Superintendent will work on job sites of Auld & White. The Superintendent is responsible for direct supervision of a specified construction project and for obtaining successful results safely in regard to quality, cost and time. The Superintendent should demonstrate technical competence in the construction industry. Skills include strong leadership, communication, meeting deadlines and problem solving.
The Superintendent should posses a High School Diploma or equivalent.
The Superintendent should have a minimum of five (5) years experience as a Superintendent in the Commercial Construction industry.
Essential Job Functions – Partial List
Oversee the entire construction project. Coordinate and direct all trades on the project, including subcontractors.
Oversee safety and accident control for project. Maintain Safety Manual, hold safety meetings and implement effective safety programs. Investigate and report all accidents.
Oversee day-to-day quality control of both company performed work and subcontractor’s work. Ensure compliance with contract documents including drawings, specifications, field orders, etc.
Plan and schedule project activities on a daily to weekly basis, as required. Hold subcontractor meetings and prepare three-week short interval schedules.
Oversee layout of accurate lines and grades of all work. Check and verify dimensions within the design drawings and coordinate with shop drawings.
Plan and develop construction techniques and methods, such as formwork and temporary structures, materials handling, crew sizes and deployment, equipment requirements, and task sequences in conjunction with Project Manager.
Responsible for recruitment, deployment, and termination of all job site personnel below the Assistant Superintendent level. Identify and recommend outstanding workers and craftsmen for advancement as appropriate.
Purchase general material and requisition rental equipment if directed by the Project Manger.
Receive and maintain purchased materials and rented equipment. Inspect the site for needed rental equipment.
